A stocked sign that was correct when ordered may no longer suit the final site layout, door numbering, certifier request or handover requirement.
Apartment, room, storage or service numbers can change before handover.
Wording, sign type or placement requirements may be adjusted during review.
Site teams sometimes order too many signs or miss the final count.
Rooms, doors, carpark areas and access paths can change during construction.
What can and cannot be exchanged?
Easy exchange is available when the returned item is an eligible stocked sign. The replacement can be another stocked sign, a custom sign or another suitable signage product from StatutorySigns.au.
Eligible stocked signs
Standard stocked signs may be returned for exchange when they are in suitable condition.
- The returned item is a standard stocked sign from StatutorySigns.au
- Unused and uninstalled
- Clean and unmarked
- Undamaged and unscratched
- Adhesive backing and protective film intact where applicable
- Returned in resaleable condition
Not eligible for exchange
Some signs cannot be returned for exchange because they are made specifically for a project, order or approved artwork.
- Custom signs or signs with custom wording
- Engraved labels
- Made-to-order signs
- Special-order items
- Installed or attempted-to-install signs
- Damaged, scratched, marked or dirty signs
- Signs made from approved project schedules or custom artwork
Exchange toward another sign
If approved, eligible stocked signs can be exchanged toward another sign from StatutorySigns.au.
- The returned item must be an eligible stocked sign
- The replacement can be a stocked sign, custom sign or other suitable signage product
- Any price difference must be paid before release or production
- Return delivery or courier costs are the customer’s responsibility
- Returned signs must be checked before the exchange is approved

Returned signs are checked to confirm they are clean, unused and resaleable.

We arrange the replacement sign or apply the approved exchange value toward the sign you need.
Price difference paid
Any price difference is paid before the replacement sign is released or custom production begins.
Easy exchange does not mean every sign can be returned.
This policy is designed for standard stocked signs that can go back into stock and be resold. Signs that are custom-made, engraved, damaged, installed or made specifically for a project cannot usually be returned for exchange.
Frequently asked questions
Can I exchange a sign if I ordered the wrong wording?
If the returned item is a standard stocked sign and it is returned unused, unmarked and in resaleable condition, it may be eligible for exchange. Custom wording signs are not usually eligible to be returned for exchange.
Can I exchange signs that have already been installed?
No. Installed signs, or signs that have been attempted to be installed, are not eligible for exchange.
Can custom signs or engraved labels be exchanged?
Custom signs, engraved labels, made-to-order signs and project-specific signs are not usually eligible to be returned for exchange unless agreed in writing.
Who pays for return delivery?
Return delivery, courier or postage costs are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
Can I exchange for a more expensive sign?
Yes, if the exchange is approved. The replacement does not need to be a stocked sign. You can exchange the approved value toward another stocked sign, custom sign or suitable signage product. Any price difference must be paid before the replacement sign is released or custom production begins.

No. The sign being returned must be an eligible stocked sign, but the replacement can be another stocked sign, a custom sign or another suitable signage product from StatutorySigns.au. Any price difference must be paid before release or production.
